January Round Up

Hello again… It’s been a long time since I sat down to write anything over here!

January has been quite a busy month for me and I wanted a way to document it all in one place, so I thought I would do a monthly ‘Round Up’ post at the end of every month to keep you up to date with everything that’s been going on!

This month started off with the boyfriend and I starting to properly look for houses. We went to a few different house viewings and nothing was really making us excited about moving but the last one we saw, we fell in love with. It was in a nice little area and is close by to both of our families as well as having a good amount of space for us to have guests over. It was just perfect for our first little home. Most of the month has been spent getting the ball rolling on buying the house and signing lots of pretty intimidating paperwork!! We are (hopefully!) relatively close to the end of the process and are hoping to be moving at the end of February/early March! This was my main goal for this year and I never imagined that it would be possible so quickly and I am really excited to document our moving and decoration process. If there are any particular posts you would like to see in that department, let me know!

Also, January marked the start of my Open University course! I am still working full time but  I have found it to be pretty manageable as I like to keep at least one weekend day free for some study time as well as an hour or two every weeknight. So far, I have really enjoyed the subject and it is really nice to have something to be working towards alongside having targets etc at work!

As always though, January has felt like a really long month. I had a 4-day work trip this month which was really interesting but consisted of really long and busy days. There has been a lot of backward and forwards with estate agents and solicitors and a few stressful days of waiting, but finally, January is over! I think January is always a tough month for everyone after having the festive season but it has also been quite a productive one for me.
