When we moved into our house I got quite overwhelmed with choosing the themes and colours for each room because I haven’t quite found my style. One thing I love doing is scrolling through Pinterest looking at other people’s interiors to work out what sort of styles I like and what could work in the spaces we have. I thought it might be interesting to share some of the bits on my home wish list and come back to it in a year or so to see whether my style has changed and how many of these bits I end up buying!
Cosy Accent Chair
In our little office I really want to create a cosy reading nook in the alcove. It would be the perfect space for a comfy accent chair and maybe a nice floor lamp. My plan is to paint the office a pale pink so I am looking at pink or grey chairs to match. I love this chair from MADE.com and have been keeping an eye out for something similar. This style of chair just looks so comfortable and would be the perfect place to curl up with a book!
Dining Table and Chairs
When we moved in we were very kindly given a dining table and 4 chairs by a family member whilst we were sorting ourselves out. They are completely functional but I just don’t feel like they make the most of the space we have in our dining area and I would love to have something a bit more modern. I love the idea of having a wooden table with some dark green or blue chairs to match the colours we have in the kitchen and living room. This one from Out and Out looks great and is an extendable table too!
When I am looking at other people’s homes on Pinterest I always look at the prints and photos that they put up to complete the styling of each room. My favourite place to look for prints is Desenio. They have such a wide variety of colours, styles and sizes and they also sell the frames to match to it is a perfect one-stop-shop for wall decorations. I have quite a long list of prints I want from here so I will definitely be adding to my collection slowly. They also run amazing deals so keep an eye out on the site for their sales!
Another thing I am keeping an eye out for is nice fake flowers. I absolutely love having fresh flowers in the house but it would be great to have a couple of good quality bunches of fake ones! I love the idea of having flowers in the house all year round and them being less maintenance. Dunelm always has such a lovely selection of both single flowers and full arrangements so I need to plan a trip soon!
I am sure that this list will continue to grow as we start to decorate the house and find our style so I will definitely have to update the list soon!
