A few years ago, Monthly Favourites videos and blog posts were one of my favourite things to watch and read. Maybe I am just a bit nosy but I really like to see what people have been enjoying. I have found books, beauty products and recipes that I would never have normally gone for but saw on a favourites list and gave a try. I don’t think my favourites change often enough for monthly favourites but I wanted to share some of my recent favourites instead!
Books: Since leaving 6th form I really struggled to get back into reading for pleasure but when I finally gave Louise Pentland’s Wilde series a go it really brought have that love for reading. I have followed Louise for years and it took me way too long to actually get round to reading her books but I am so glad that I did. Her writing style is really easy to follow whilst really going into depth about each character and situation. I have just absolutely loved these boots and have made me really excited for any future fiction boots Louise writes.
Podcasts: Table Manners by Jessie Ware and, her mother, Lenny has been one of my favourite podcasts recently. I tend to listen to this whilst I am at work and it really brightens up my day. They have different guests on each episode and they cook them a meal whilst they chat. I really enjoy listening to the stories that the guests and hosts have to talk about as they are quire often a little different to what you would hear in a standard interview. It really feels like you get to know the guest!
Sims 4: In the last couple of weeks I have really gotten back into the Sims 4. I love building new lots and creating families and playing our their stories.
DW Home Heirloom Pumpkin Candle: I bought this candle in TK Maxx in October as I didn’t really have any autumnal candle scents. This was amazing! It filled the entire house with a sweet and spicy pumpkin scent and burned really evenly. I need to try to find another one of these or try out some other scents from this brand is it was a really good purchase!
Food: Recently, we have started to get Hello Fresh boxes for our main evening meals. We have enjoyed having such a range of meals and trying some bits that we wouldn’t normally buy or think to cook. It has been good to step out of our comfort zone and cook some nice meals together! We have been rating them on the recipe cards once we have eaten so that we can keep track of the ones that we have enjoyed the most. I would love to do a full review of the service once we have had a few more boxes.
Office – We have finally made some progress in our office. It is still home to a couple of boxes that we are yet to sort but they are all office things is I don’t feel too bad about it! We are slowly working our way through sorting out all of the little decorations that we have and finding homes for them. I have been spending a little bit more time in this room lately and I have really been enjoying it. I cannot wait to get some paint and a chair for the corner. I think it will feel a little more complete!
Primark Extra Large Throw: If you read my homeware wist list a few months ago you will know that I have been searching EVERYWHERE for a bottle green blanket for our living room. I wanted something that was super soft and a little bit bigger than our other blankets for snuggling on the sofa in the evenings and I finally came across this one from Primark. It is huge (bigger than a king sized bed!) and really soft, as well as being the most perfect colour match! Also, at £12, I thought it was a bit of a bargain. I want to try and get one in another colour for our bed and the spare bedroom.
What have been your favourites recently? I would love to know what you have been loving!
