2020 Goals : Setting Monthly Goals

As mentioned previously, I wanted to share my 2020 goals. I really struggled to come up with a couple of big goals that would be sustainable for the entire year. This is something I struggle with every year so I wanted to split it down into smaller monthly goals. I thought that this would make each goal more achievable and encourage me to carry on thoughout the year. I have found that setting achievable goals has helped me to refresh my mindset for the year ahead.

January

Like for many people, my goal for January is to start to increase my fitness levels and introduce more exercise into my week. I would like to go to the gym, whether that is just on my own or to do a class, twice a week at least. This should be achievable but will be a really good step in the right direction. Once twice a week is comfortable I would like to increase this throughout the year.

February

Organisation is my main goal for February. I would really like to go through my wardrobe and cupboards and declutter and organise them. Since moving, I have realised just how much stuff we have and how much of it we don’t use. I would also like to organise my digital stuff, whether that’s on my computer or external hard drive.

March

For March, I really want to focus on being more tidy. Once the house is organised, I really want make it a habit to be more tidy. This is not something that comes naturally to me but I crave a tidy environment. I have really enjoyed starting to decorate our house and really make it into our home. I put together a post of my decor tips not long after we moved in but I would love to do some more of this in March.

April

Confidence is a big goal for this year and I really want to focus on this in April. April is the month of our first show this year. I am so excited to be part of another musical but I really want to go into it confidently. I just want to be able to enjoy the show without the confidence niggles.

May

In May, I want to try to focus on getting into a full skincare routine. I am, hopefully, getting married next year and I want to give my skin the chance to be it’s best! I do already have somewhat of a routine but I want to be much more strict in doing it every morning and evening alongside the extras I want to do once a week.

June

One of my big goal for 2020 is saving money. We want to get married in 2021 and would like to have the budget to have the wedding that we would both love. We are going to make a list of the essentials for each month and only spend money on these items. Also I think it would be good to take a closer look at our expenses and reduce where possible.

July

We have a really busy July this year and I want to focus on being present and in the moment. I would still like to capture the important bits, for myself, but make a conscious effort to stop scrolling and checking people’s updates constantly. As well as this, I would like to have a look at the accounts I am following on social media and remove any that I am no longer enjoying.

August

In August, I would love to improve my photography skills. I love taking photos, both on my phone and on my big camera, but I would like to learn some new techniques to improve my pictures. I thought this might be a good one for August as we are out and about a lot and we are surrounded by gorgeous countryside that thrives in the summer.

September

My mind still works to the academic calendar and every year when September rolls around I want to be back in some sort of education. By September I want to have either enrolled or be in the process of enrolling in a course to improve a skill or learn something new. I would love to learn a lot more about digital marketing and I think this may be a good place to start.

October

In October, I want to focus on reading. I was always an avid reader but in the last couple of years this has really changed. Sixth form changed the way I viewed reading and I want to enjoy it again. I would like to aim to read 2 books in October. I think I could maybe manage 1 or 2 more than this, but I want the goal to be achievable and not overwhelming.

November

Being creative is something that I crave, whether that is writing, drawing or dancing. I want to make these activities a priority in November. During the spring and summer I will be rehearsing for musicals and I want to carry on that creativity and take the initiative to do it myself.

December

My goal for December is Blogmas. I have attempted Blogmas previously but I have never quite managed to complete it and I want this year to be the year that I smash it!  I love Christmas and the festive season and I would love to create some amazing content for Blogmas.

 

 

To keep myself accountable, I want to do a quarterly update (sounds very business like!) post and keep updated over on Instagram!

I have really enjoyed setting out my 2020 goals and it has really made me motivated to get started! I would love to know what your goals are for this year and whether you have set a couple of big goals or something a bit different!
